Square Kufic App

Design Square Kufic (Kufi Murabba) calligraphy on a grid, then copy it straight into Illustrator or export it as SVG or PNG.

Beginner mode shades the forbidden squares, checks the rules as you draw and walks you through with tips. Pro mode adds every shape and editing tool and gets the hints out of the way. Switch with the toggle at the top; your drawing stays the same.

• Strokes sit on even rows and columns. The shaded squares, where the gaps cross, are forbidden.
• Symmetry (M) mirrors or rotates everything you draw around a centre point.
• Click or drag to draw. Right-click or hold Alt to erase.
• Hold Space and drag, or scroll, to move around. Pinch or ⌘ + scroll to zoom.
• Your work saves automatically in this browser. Use Save project to keep a file.
